"If There Is A God...Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?"

This question was first asked on my BP page and I've gotten a few nice responses which I've included below. Feel free to give them a holler to let them know if you agree with their opinions and why or why not.

Then let me hear your opinions. Oh and please come with something to back it up!

At the end of the week, I will conclude with my take.

Peace,
Dee

Bad things happen to good people & people in general because evil takes its shot whenever it can. Just as many good things happen but we don`t realize that there was a divine intervention that has occurred. Like this morning, I was preparing to make a left turn from a designated turn lane. A van next to me was making the same turn but not from the legal lane and almost hit me. Luckily I saw him out of the corner of my eye and avoid the accident. Now the question is, are my eyes that good our did God make me aware of what was happening. In either case it is a good thing that happened instead of a bad thing.

"Bad things happen to good people, because bad things happen to EVERYBODY. We just notice when it happens to good people because we feel they don`t deserve it; If you are in this world, then you will be subject to this world and everything in it; also, there IS such a thing as generational curse on a particular generation was invoked, we just see the manifestation."

God allows bad things to happen to good people to test their faith, patience and trust. When things get bad will you continue to trust Him or will you seek out something or someone else. We`ve all experienced an unfavorable event, it`s how we`ll deal with it that makes Him smile or frown on us.

Jesus tells us in the New Testament that the sun will shine on the just as it does on the unjust.

No one can fault Satan for doing his job as much as we may want to cringe at the thought, he is who he is and does what he does and he does it well, if not we would not have this forum to discuss these very issues and dilemas.

Define "Good People" then ask that question again. As long as your committment to GOD is real and with an unconditional LOVE the battle will always be at your doorstep and the victory yours to have. That is Satan's job to (bring confusion and deceit wherever he may travel.)

But the reality is that God will not allow no bigger a burden then one can carry, however He draws you nearer by allowing your world to be rocked yet increasing your faith for Him and a hunger for the meat of the word.

Your journey into the valley is judged by your return to the mountain top. Satan did not grant you salvation and surely he can not take it. Plain and simple. Bad things happen to all not just the good, if it were true then why do some of the "bad people" never bounce back they continue a spiral down fall into an eternal dark abyss of no return even here on earth.

Trust in HIM and all else will follow.

Answer: No one is exempt from bad, evil, disagreeable things (acts) happening to us, this includes God. Human beings have to start taking responsibility for their own actions, and stop leaning on religion like a crutch. This is what our nature is made up of, 180 degrees of Good (agreeable) and 180 degrees of bad(disagreeable), which results in a 360 degree nature. So let us exercise our free will in a more appropriate way.

    Peace, love and power

Bad Things Do Seem To Happen To GOOD PEOPLE but REMEMBER,

"All Things Work Together For Good To Those Who Love God And Are Called To His Purpose"

So what we may view as Bad today may be that Divine Intervention of God tomorrow.
